Executive Board
Information on members of the Executive Board
The BKW Executive Board consists of five members who comprise the Heads of Corporate Steering, Management Services, Networks and Energy.
The following is a summary of information on members of the Executive Board:

Kurt Rohrbachjoined BKW in 1980. In addition to his function at BKW, he is President of the Association of Swiss Electricity Enterprises (VSE) and a member of the Board of the Canton of Berne Trade and Industry Association. Up to the end of 2000 Kurt Rohrbach headed the Energy Division of BKW.
Beat Grossenbacherjoined BKW in December 2008 as Head of Finance and Services. Prior to this he had been working for the Swisscom Group since 1994, latterly as Deputy CFO and Head of Treasury, Mergers & Acquisitions and Insurance.
Patrick Braunjoined BKW in 1977. Until mid-1996 he was Head of the Networks and Trade department of BKW.
Hermann Ineichenholds a degree in electrical engineering and an MSc in Energy Management. He joined BKW in 1996 and headed the Trade unit of BKW until the end of 2000.
Samuel Leupoldjoined BKW in 2006. Prior to this he was responsible for global sales at the Grinding & Dispersion Business unit of Bühler AG, Uzwil, before which he worked as a consultant at McKinsey & Company and in various functions at ABB Kraftwerke AG.

The Board Committee has appointed the following senior management members to the Extended Executive Board. They directly represent the issues and business within their sphere of responsibility on the Executive Board and have the right of co-decision and of motion /application.

Matthias Kaufmannis an advocate. Before joining BKW in 1992, he was Assistant Head of the Swiss Federal Council's Service for Administrative Control.
Martin Pfistererjoined BKW in 1987. Before this he worked as a Section Head at the Federal Office for Spatial Planning.
